For four generations - since 1946 - family business Selling Motorbikes has been the place to go for all Amsterdam motorcycle enthusiasts. Selling Motorbikes is the official dealer for Amsterdam and the surrounding area of the Japanese brand Honda. In addition to these brands of which showroom models and demos are available, the range of motorcycles consists of around 150 used motorcycles, so if you want to buy a motorcycle, you've come to the right place. As a Bovag-approved dealership, Selling Motorbikes has been a trusted address for thousands of motorcyclists for 75 years, who can rely on our warranty and service.
Many people started their motorcycle career by obtaining their motorcycle license at the eponymous Selling Motorrijschool, located on the first floor at our cozy coffee corner and motorcycle clothing and accessories department. If you are looking for a motorcycle, we will gladly help you on your way to a good match. Go for the Ride!
After 38 years of MotoPort membership, Selling will be on the facade again from 2021 and we are very proud of that! The company “Motorhandel Selling” was founded by Hendrik Selling (leftmost in the photo), grandfather of Rolf (rightmost in the photo) in Amsterdam in 1946. Initially, mainly storage and maintenance services were offered. During the industrial revolution of the 1950s, the first motorcycle dealerships were established. After German and British brands, Italian and Japanese brands were later added to the range. In the mid-1960s, the company was continued by Rob Selling (2nd from left), during which time the company grew to a peak in 1978 of 800 motorcycles sold and the company provided 20 employees, including Rolf's father (motorsportsman of the 20th century Frits Selling, in the middle of the photo) with work.
In the early 90s, Maurice Selling (2nd from right) took over the business operations from his father Rob. In 1996, the company moved from Amsteldijk 161 to a new building at Spaklerweg 91 in Duivendrecht, which is still our home base.
